The second generation Turtle Beach Stealth 700 comes with some serious improvements over the previous generation, and for only $50 more than the Stealth 600 Gen 2, it’s a serious contender for your next gaming headset.
The design of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 has been improved over the original headset, with a slightly more subdued look (no more bright green on the Xbox version) and a mic that folds down to be muted and folds neatly into the earpiece. The control buttons have also been rearranged and moved to a single earpiece. The buttons are a good size and well spaced, but if you’re used to the Stealth 700 Gen 1, you may need a little time to get used to them.
The Stealth 700 Gen 2 is much more comfortable than the Stealth 600 Gen 2, which is saying something, because I found that the latter fit my glasses-wearing head quite well, but its earcups started to pinch after a few hours of playing. The Stealth 700 Gen 2’s soft memory foam cushions with Aerofit cooling gel are incredibly comfortable and allow you to wear this headset with ease for hours and hours of gaming.
Plus, this headset offers great sound, with large speakers that give you great overall sound, and the ability to adjust the sound to your liking with the Audio Hub. Turn on the superhuman hearing mode to take over in online shooter games, or turn on the bass boost feature for more powerful sound on a campaign mission. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a great headset for the price – and it’ll also cover you for next-gen gaming on the XBox Series X|S.
